Fertility Testing and Treatment FAQ
We recommend an infertility evaluation if you have not gotten pregnant after one year of having regular, unprotected sexual intercourse for women under the age of 35. For women over 35, an evaluation is recommended after six months of trying. Women ages 40 and older are encouraged to seek evaluation without delay.

Some tests may cause more discomfort than others, and everyone has different pain thresholds. Generally, most patients report fertility testing to be no more painful than other routine medical exams and pap smears.
