Dr. Christensen is the Laboratory Director and founding embryologist of Kentucky Fertility Institute. With nearly three decades of experience working in high-complexity clinical laboratories, he designed the KFI embryology and andrology laboratory program to be unparalleled in the region, incorporating best practices from other institutions around the country. He strongly believes in open communication with patients and serves as an invaluable resource for them during their IVF counseling and care.
Originally from Idaho, Dr. Christensen earned his undergraduate degree at Brigham Young University, followed by a PhD in Physiology from the University of Utah. He received his High-complexity Lab Director certification from the American Board of Bioanalysis in 2008. Dr. Christensen is widely published and has authored a number of book chapters on topics including male infertility, genetics, and fertility preservation. His leadership and expertise have led him to become a highly sought-after lecturer, and he has served as a consultant for numerous academic and private fertility laboratories around the country. In his free time, Dr. Christensen enjoys gardening, cooking, hiking, bee-keeping, rebuilding vintage cars, riding horses and motorcycles, and spending time with his wife and four children.
